National Açaí Bowl Day is Saturday, April 6! - 03.30.2013
What was once a dish served only in Brazil, açaí bowls are now served in cafés and kitchens all over the world. To celebrate, Sambazon is partnering with juice shops and cafes across the county to launch the first ever National Açaí Bowl Day on Saturday, April 6, 2013! Ever since we experienced our first açaí bowl over 13 years ago it has been our dream to share this amazing food experience with the world. We are getting super excited about it and can’t wait for Tribe members around the country to come together and enjoy the Amazon Superfood that started it all.
Nearly 400 locations nationwide will be offering 50% off açaí bowls on this momentous occasion. To find a list of participating juice shops and cafes near you, check out our National Açaí Bowl Day locator.
If you can’t find a location close to you that is participating in National Açaí Bowl Day, don’t fret. You can still participate by creating your own bowl at home! We have açaí bowl recipes you can follow or you can create your own (check back Tuesday & Thursday for our blog posts on ‘What is an açaí bowl?’ on ‘How to make an açaí bowl’). We’ll even reward you with prizes if you are one of the first 50 people to share your recipe with us on April 6. Here’s all you have to do:
- Submit your personal Sambazon açaí bowl recipe and a picture of your bowl. Just follow the link to ‘Share Your Tasty Creations!’ at the bottom of the Recipes page.
- Let us know you submitted a recipe on Instagram or Twitter by tagging @Sambazon and using hashtag #NABD.
- The first 50 people who do #1 and #2 above will win a SAMBAZON KITCHEN RECIPE BOOK, a hand carved wood bowl + spoon, plus a four pack of Original Açaí Smoothie Packs!
However you participate in National Açaí Bowl Day, share your purple love! Post your açaí bowl pictures on social networks with hashtag #NABD to meet the rest of the Tribe and join the conversation.
Check back Tuesday to learn what an açaí bowl is and what you need to make your own for Saturday.
