Acai Bowl with Chocolate + Coconut Oil Magic Shell

For when you want to amaze the kids and yourself with just how magical simple ingredient combos can be.

Ingredients

For the acai bowl
  • 2 Sambazon The Original Smoothie Packs
  • 1/2 frozen banana (fresh banana totally works too, but frozen makes things a little colder and creamier)
  • 2-4 oz chocolate hemp milk (or other vegan milk)
For the Magic Shell
  • 1/4 cup Nutiva coconut oil
  • 3/4 cup Alter Eco Chocolate - we used Blackout, 85% for a cocoa rich sauce; if you like a sweeter version try their Dark Velvet

Ingredients

For the acai bowl
  • 2 Sambazon The Original Smoothie Packs

For the Magic Shell
  • 1/4 cup Nutiva coconut oil
  • 3/4 cup Alter Eco Chocolate - we used Blackout, 85% for a cocoa rich sauce; if you like a sweeter version try their Dark Velvet

Instructions

  1. Making Chocolate + Coconut Oil Magic Shell first, break chocolate into small pieces.
  2. Place chocolate into microwave-safe bowl and microwave, pausing to stir every 10 seconds for about 60 seconds until chocolate is just melted.
  3. Add coconut oil to melted chocolate and stir until combined.
  4. Add acai bowl ingredients to blender and blend until smooth, pausing as needed to stir ingredients toward blades, only adding liquid if needed.
  5. Scoop acai into a bowl then drizzle with Chocolate + Coconut Oil Magic Shell. It will harden as soon as it hits the frosty acai since coconut oil is solid at room temperature and cooler.
  6. Store extra Chocolate + Coconut Oil Magic Shell in a jar and get it all melty before next use.
