My son absolutely loves acai bowls! I got turned on to them through the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu world, and found that acai bowls help give me energy without feeling heavy. This is a very special breakfast that we enjoy once every weekend, whether we make it at home, or go out to grab one.

Ingredients

1 Frozen Banana 1 ripe banana 1 cup frozen strawberries 1/4 cup fresh strawberries 2 Sambazon Acai smoothie packs 1/2 cup frozen blueberries 1/4 cup ripe blueberries Granola 1/8-1/4 cup of juice

Instructions

I peel and freeze the bananas, as well as wash, de-stem, and freeze the strawberries. I keep frozen blueberries in the freezer, since they're not available year round. The main thing with this recipe is to keep in mind any loss of ingredients due to the little helper! While I wash the fresh fruit, my son usually sits next to me, eating it, so make sure you have some extra. I load the blender with the bananas first, then the fresh fruit, then the frozen fruit. When blending, start slow, then move to a higher speed when the frozen ingredients get to the blades. This will help keep things from flying all over the blender. If it does, keep a spatula handy to push everything down off the sides of the blender. Once done with the spatula, pass it over to your toddler, who'll be happy to help you clean it! I put some granola in the bottom of the bowls, then the acai-mix. I top it with granola, then sliced fresh fruit. Sometimes we'll also put other seasonal fruit on top just for kicks! (Avoid blackberries and raspberries because they have too many seeds.) Letting my son choose what goes in it guarantees that he'll love it! He also believes that dad's letting him have ice cream as breakfast!
